Berkshire Hathaway Energy Renewables Groundbreaking in Ravenswood, WV
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congresswoman Carol Miller (R-WV) joined state leaders and top executives on Saturday, March 4th in a groundbreaking ceremony for Berkshire Hathaway Energy (BHE) Renewables developing a first-of-its-kind solar energy microgrid-powered industrial site in Ravenswood, West Virginia. The new plant, which will operate under the PCC subsidiary Titanium Metals Corporation, Inc. (TIMET) and will collaborate with Our Next Energy for large-scale battery storage operation on the site, will employ approximately 300 people and expects to use 100% renewable energy to manufacture titanium products for the aerospace and other industries.
“I am honored to stand with other state and federal leaders during this groundbreaking event as the first solar energy microgrid-powered industrial site project is unveiled in Jackson County,” said Congresswoman Miller. “As co-chair of the Energy Export Caucus, I know this important project will aid in producing energy in our communities and stimulate economic growth that will create new jobs in West Virginia.
