Military Academy Nominations

Instructions
The honor of attending a Service Academy comes with the obligation and commitment to serve in the military for a minimum of five years upon graduation. For more information, please review the page of Frequently Asked Questions for those seeking a Military Academy Nomination.
Members of Congress may nominate candidates for appointment to four of the five U.S. Service Academies: U.S. Military Academy (USMA), West Point, NY; the U.S. Naval Academy (USNA), Annapolis, MD; the U.S. Air Force Academy (USAFA), Colorado Springs, CO; and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA), Kings Point, NY. The fifth Service Academy, the U.S. Coast Guard Academy (USCGA), New London, CT, does not require a congressional nomination for appointment.
Representative Miller may nominate up to 15 individuals for each vacant academy slot allotted to our district. To request a Military Academy Nomination from our office, please contact our office. Best wishes to you as you pursue your goal of attending one of the U.S. Service Academies and serving our country.

Summer Programs
Rising High School Seniors: Applications to experience a Service Academy this summer are open. While the last two years’ camps were virtual, this year they are in-person. See below for more information:
USMA – Applications for Summer Leadership Experience due March 15th
USNA – Applications for Summer Seminar due March 31st
USAFA – Applications for Summer Seminar due January 15th
USCGA – Applications for Summer Academy Introduction Mission (AIM) program due April 15th
While the USMA does not have separate summer programs due to their unique trimester system tied into their Sea Year, it would benefit students to apply for the summer programs at USNA or USCGA to see if a sea service is the right path for them.
Middle School and High School Students: Apply now for summer STEM camp at a Service Academy, where you will have the chance to interact with faculty and Cadets or Midshipmen while working in world-class lab facilities on real-life STEM applications. While the last two years’ camps were virtual, this year they are in-person. See below for more information:
