Bipartisan Energy Export Caucus Releases Statement on DOE LNG Report
Washington, D.C. – Today, the bipartisan Congressional Energy Export Caucus Co-Chairs Congresswoman Carol Miller (R-WV), Jodey Arrington (R-TX), and Henry Cuellar (D-TX) released the following statement after the Biden administration’s Department of Energy (DOE) released a report on the environmental and economic impacts of the Liquified Natural Gas (LNG).
“LNG is a key part of unleashing American energy dominance, and by keeping this pause in place the Biden administration has held the United States back from reaching our full potential. This is not a partisan issue; every American has experienced the financial burden because of this policy. The reality is LNG is crucial in emboldening American energy production. When the U.S. is energy dominant, we have the ability to export to our allies which elevates our global influence while lowering costs for Americans. LNG production will continue to be a cornerstone for energy exports, and we look forward to working with the incoming Administration to ensure that the U.S. energy supply is abundant to bring down energy costs and support our allies,” said the Co-Chairs of the Energy Export Caucus.
On Tuesday December 17th, S&P Global released a study of the U.S. LNG export industry and its global impact. This report found that the U.S. LNG industry is vital in keeping the cost of living low while simultaneously providing energy internationally. It also shows that LNG will play a crucial role in growing the U.S. economy and our energy supply as a whole. The data is clear: LNG is an essential part of keeping America energy dominant.
