Congresswoman Miller Advocates for Securing Our Southern Border, American Energy, and Keeping our Police Funded
WASHINGTON D.C. – Congresswoman Carol Miller (R-WV) introduced three amendments during debate in the House of Representatives on H.R. 7608, the first appropriations bill to be voted on for Fiscal Year 2020 providing funding for State & Foreign Operations; Military Construction & Veterans Affairs; Agriculture; and Interior & Environment.
The three amendments would stop House Democrats from blocking funding for the border wall, help innovate America's energy industry, and keep our police funded.
Congresswoman Miller's Remarks as Prepared:
I rise today to speak in favor of three amendments I've submitted in the Republican En Bloc.
An amendment to stop my colleagues across the aisle from cutting funding for our border wall. We still have a crisis on our Southern Border, and we need to stop illegal drugs from entering our country.
An amendment to support innovation in our gas industry. American energy is clean, affordable, and efficient. We must capitalize on our American energy dominance to rebuild our economy, expand trade, and create stable jobs.
And
An amendment to make sure our police remain funded. We cannot let our liberal colleagues defund the police. This over correction will lead our country to a dark place. Our police officers protect our communities, and keep us safe. I am proud to support our police.
