Congresswoman Miller Announces $1.3 Million in CARES Act Funding to Airports Across Southern West Virginia

WASHINGTON D.C. – Congresswoman Carol Miller (R-WV) today announced 4 grants from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to Mercer County, Appalachian Regional, Logan County, and Raleigh County Memorial Airports. This funding is made available through the CARES Act that was passed by Congress earlier this year. A full break down of each grant is below.

"As we recover from this public health emergency we must strengthen our economy, expand trade, and bring new investment opportunities to our state," said Congresswoman Miller. "Our airports play a crucial role in doing this, by transporting goods and people around the country and the world. I am pleased to see this funding come home to Southern West Virginia airports to help our state rebuild and expand our role in the region."

Full Details:

  1. The Mercer County Airport Authority is receiving $563,981 to expand the general aviation apron to meet FAA standards at Mercer County Airport.
  2. The Mingo County Airport Authority will receive $166,667 to construct a double pump fuel facility to increase Appalachian Regional Airports self-sustainability.
  3. The Logan County Airport Authority will receive $227,154 to repair existing taxiway and runway at Logan County Airport.
  4. The Raleigh County Airport Authority will receive $368,421 to repair existing taxiway and runway at Raleigh County Memorial Airport.
