Congresswoman Miller Announces $1.5 Million Grant for Prichard Waterline Project
WASHINGTON D.C. – Congresswoman Carol Miller (R-WV) announced a $1,500,000 grant from the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) to the City of Kenova for the Prichard Waterline Replacement and Extension Project.
The project will replace and extend 65,140 linear feet of the Prichard Waterline to the Heartland Intermodal Gateway facility (HIG) and the Prichard Industrial Park. The new waterline will benefit 335 households and 20 businesses.
"This funding is absolutely crucial to the economy of Wayne County," said Congresswoman Miller. "Building up our water infrastructure will provide more businesses with the adequate water supply they need to operate. This will allow them to grow their businesses, create more jobs, and increase outside investment to West Virginia. Thank you to the ARC for providing the funds to get this project done!"
In addition to ARC funding, other federal sources are providing $1,084,000 and local sources are providing $2,458,529, which will bring the project total to $5,042,529.
