Congresswoman Miller Announces $1.5 Million to Rebuild West Virginia's Workforce
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congresswoman Carol Miller (R-WV) announced today a Dislocated Worker Grant totaling $1,500,000 from the Department of Labor to WorkForce West Virginia. This funding is allocated from the CARES Act passed in March of 2020.
Dislocated Worker Grants temporarily expand the capacity of states and local communities to respond to massive unforeseen layoffs and provide individuals with the tools they need to get back into the workforce.
"As we work to rebuild our economy and bring new investment to our state, it is critical that we develop a robust workforce with the skills needed to stay competitive in the global economy," said Congresswoman Miller. "This funding will help prepare West Virginians with modern skills and job training to gain new employment and advance their careers. I am grateful to the Department of Labor forworking with us to accomplish this goal."
