Congresswoman Miller Announces $1.8 Million for the Coal Mountain Waterline Extension Project

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congresswoman Carol Miller (R-WV) announced today a grant worth $1,850,000, from the Appalachian Regional Commission to the Wyoming County Commission for the Coal Mountain Waterline Extension Project. This project will provide clean drinking water to 166 customers in the Coal Mountain, Big Cub Branch, Upper Sturgeon Branch, and Road Branch communities.

"Every West Virginian deserves access to clean drinking water," said Congresswoman Miller. "As we work to revitalize Southern West Virginia, investment in critical services will bring more businesses, jobs, and opportunities to our communities. I am thankful to the Appalachian Regional Commission for helping make our state an even better place to live, work, and raise a family."

Additionally, West Virginia's Community Development Block Grant program will provide $1,500,000 and the Wyoming County Commission will provide $70,000 to the project. Further, the WV Infrastructure Jobs and Development Council will provide a loan of $1,365,000. The total project cost is $4,785,000.
