Congresswoman Miller Announces $200,000 for Opioid Crisis in Williamson
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congresswoman Carol Miller (R-WV) announced today a Rural Communities Opioid Response Grant of $200,000 from the Department of Health and Human Services to the Williamson Health and Wellness Center in Williamson, West Virginia.
"Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, West Virginia has seen a rise in overdoses," said Congresswoman Miller. "I am working to provide all the resources available to help our communities fight the battle against this virus and against addiction. Our health care centers are on the front lines of this crisis and I am grateful to the Department of Health and Human Services for allocating this funding in response."
The Rural Communities Opioid Response Grant program is used to help designated high-risk rural counties strengthen their response to substance use disorder.
