Congresswoman Miller Announces $250,000 Grant to Mercer County Regional Airport

Washington D.C. – Congresswoman Carol Miller (R-WV) announced today a grant of $250,000 from the Appalachian Regional Commission to the Bluewell Public Service District for the Mercer County Regional Airport Development and Diversification Initiative.

Congresswoman Miller said, "Our airports play a crucial role in diversifying our economy, creating more jobs, and increasing opportunities for tourism. Thank you to the ARC for investing in the infrastructure of Southern West Virginia."

This grant will be used develop new water service to business and 65 households, create 38 new jobs, and the retention of 64 existing jobs. The funds will extend public water service along Route 52 and Airport Road to the Mercer County Regional Airport. The new public water service will help develop the land around the area and bring more small businesses to Mercer County.
