Congresswoman Miller Announces $500,000 Grant for Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services
WASHINGTON D.C. – Congresswoman Carol Miller (R-WV) announced today a Mental Health and Substance Abuse Service Grant worth $500,000 from the Department of Health and Human Services to the Prestera Center for Mental Health Services in Huntington, West Virginia.
"West Virginia is ground-zero for the opioid epidemic, everywhere you turn there is someone who has been touched by this crisis," said Congresswoman Miller. "During the COVID-19 pandemic, overdoses in our communities have increased at a growing rate, and I am working to bring more treatment resources home to help all who are battling addiction. The Prestera Center plays a crucial role in this and I am grateful to the Department of Health and Human Services for providing this funding to make this center's mission possible."
The Prestera Center offers support to people across West Virginia who are battling a behavioral health or a substance abuse diagnosis.
