Congresswoman Miller Announces $600,000 to the Pocahontas County Service District
Washington D.C. – Congresswoman Carol Miller (R-WV) announced today a grant of $600,000 from the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) to the Pocahontas County Public Service District for the Frank-Bartow Sanitary Sewer project.
"This project will help Pocahontas County develop their infrastructure to grow the number of small businesses and create new jobs. This is a big step towards further connecting our state and I am thankful to all the players involved for investing in our community," said Congresswoman Miller.
This project will add an additional 31,000 linear feet of new sewer line to the County's existing wastewater collection system. The new line will service 110 households and 9 businesses. In addition to the ARC funds, the EDA will provide $1.5 million, the State of West Virginia $1.24 million, and local sources will provide $300,000. The project total is $3.64 million.
