Congresswoman Miller Announces Funding to Protect Huntington Firefighters
WASHINGTON D.C. – Congresswoman Carol Miller (R-WV) today announced a $40,619 for the Huntington Fire Department through the Federal Emergency Management Agency's (FEMA) Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG). The funding will be used to provide firefighters with protective gear, equipment, and training programs in order to assist and improve safety and operations.
"It is critical that we work to keep our firefighters safe as they bravely protect our communities," said Congresswoman Miller. "This funding from FEMA is an investment in the men and women who serve on the front lines – providing life support for people, saving homes and businesses from destruction, and responding to emergencies throughout the city. We are grateful for their heroic selflessness every day, and I am proud to work to support the firefighters who give reassurance, safety, and security for thousands of families across Huntington."
