Congresswoman Miller Announces Grant for the Mountain Health Arena in Huntington

WASHINGTON D.C. – Congresswoman Carol Miller (R-WV) announced today a Land and Water Conservation Grant from the National Park Service worth $280,119.70. The grant is being awarded to the West Virginia Development Office for the renovation of the Civic Center Plaza in Huntington, West Virginia.

"As we move towards a post-pandemic world, it is critical that we reinvest in our state to rebuild our economy," said Congresswoman Miller. "This funding will play an important role in redeveloping and revitalizing our city. By upgrading the Mountain Health Arena, we will be able to attract more visitors to Downtown Huntington and boost growth that will have a positive impact on the surrounding businesses in the community."

The project will renovate the arena plaza to better support a growing amount of visitors. It will install water features and outdoor amenities including, benches, seating and planters, bike racks, a shade structure to cover the stage, a landscape area, and upgrade the electrical infrastructure. The total cost for this project is $560,239.40.
