Congresswoman Miller Announces Grants for Pipeline Safety Programs
WASHINGTON D.C. – Congresswoman Carol Miller (R-WV) announced two Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) grants worth $576,608 from the Department of Transportation to the State of West Virginia to be used for pipeline safety and the transportation of hazardous materials.
"West Virginia natural resources play a major role in keeping the lights on for Americans around the country and providing reliable jobs around the region," said Congresswoman Miller. "As a state, we are committed to handling and transporting this energy across the country in the most safe and efficient way possible. I am pleased to see the Department of Transportation support our efforts as we continue towards American energy independence and lead the world in energy exports."
PHMSA funds reimburse states a portion of their total cost for pipeline safety each year depending on their performance.
