Congresswoman Miller's Statement on Funding of the Paycheck Protection Program

April 23, 2020

WASHINGTON D.C. – Congresswoman Carol Miller (R-WV) released today the following statement on the passage of H.R. 266, the Paycheck Protection Program and Health Care Enhancement Act.

"Tonight, I voted for the Paycheck Protection Program and Health Care Enhancement Act to deliver much-needed small business relief, keep Americans employed, send resources to frontline providers and hospitals, and expand COVID-19 testing.

"Shamefully, Congressional Democrats blocked this vote for fourteen days, costing 4.4 million Americans their jobs in the process. I am grateful we finally put differences aside to deliver for the American people, but going forward, Congress must do better. This should have happened two weeks ago. We need to put the needs of our communities first."
