ICYMI: Congresswoman Miller Meets Local Small Business Owners to Discuss Pandemic Recovery and her Employee Retention Tax Credit Reinstatement Act

December 14, 2021

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congresswoman Carol Miller (R-WV) met yesterday with the West Virginia Hospitality and Travel Association to discuss her recently introduced legislation, the Employee Retention Tax Credit (ERTC) Reinstatement Act. The ERTC Reinstatement Act will help local small restaurants and businesses recover from impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The ERTC was designed to help small businesses rehire and retain employees they had to let go due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It was overwhelmingly supported in the bipartisan Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act passed in March 2020.

"I was pleased to join local business leaders to discuss how they're recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic," said Congresswoman Miller. "In West Virginia and across the country, small businesses are still struggling to get back on track. By providing them access to the Employee Retention Tax Credit, my bipartisan legislation will help small businesses rebuild their workforce and ultimately return to normal. As we continue to emerge from the pandemic, we must recognize that small businesses — which are the backbone of our economy — need support."
