Miller, Colleagues Introduce the Iranian Terror Prevention Act
Washington D.C. – Congresswoman Carol Miller (R-WV) joined Rep. Greg Steube (R-FL) and 58 of her Republican colleagues in introducing the Iranian Terror Prevention Act. This legislation was introduced to fully sanction and designate 11 Iranian organizations as Foreign Terrorist Organizations (FTOs).
"Iran and its proxy organizations continue to terrorize Israel. The United States must call out Iranian groups who commit such evil attacks for what they really are: terrorist organizations. President Biden has shown nothing but weakness and inconsistency when it comes to supporting Israel, and it’s unacceptable. The United States must stand behind Israelis, God’s chosen people. The Iranian Terror Prevention Act will sanction these terrorists and remind them of the United States’ commitment to Israel,” said Congresswoman Miller.
“Iran has long utilized proxy forces to execute their terror agenda throughout the region. Iranian proxy forces have American blood on their hands dating back decades. In addition to this weekend’s unprecedented attack directly from Iran on Israel, we’ve seen ramped up, repeated proxy attacks on U.S. troops and our other allies in the Middle East. Iran is clearly emboldened by the Biden administration’s weakness,” said Congressman Steube. “Washington has failed to designate most of the Iranian-backed militias as Foreign Terrorist Organizations. No more excuses. We must combat terrorism with boldness and strength. My legislation takes urgent, necessary actions to fully sanction these terrorist groups who hate our country and ensure the full weight of the Foreign Terrorist Organization designation is harshly felt.”
