Miller Helps Introduce Bill to Protect Faith - Based Child Welfare Organizations
WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, Congresswoman Carol Miller (R-WV) joined Congressman Mike Kelly (R-PA), Senator Tim Scott (R-SC), and 24 of their colleagues in introducing the Child Welfare Provider Inclusion Act. This legislation will protect faith-based child welfare providers from being discriminated against for acting in accordance with their religious beliefs. It will also prohibit federal, state, and local government agencies that receive federal adoption assistance funding from holding child welfare service providers religious beliefs against them.
“Faith-based welfare providers are a glimpse of hope for many families who are seeking care and resources in their time of need,” said Congresswoman Miller. “The Child Welfare Provider Inclusion Act will safeguard faith-based organizations from the Biden administration's discriminatory policies and ensure providers receive the federal support they need to help families in our community. I look forward to the swift passage of this bill in Congress as we protect the right to religious freedom in the United States.”
