WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, Congresswoman Carol Miller (R-WV), co-chair of the Bipartisan Congressional Friends of Ecuador Caucus, released the following statement supporting President Noboa in condemning violent attacks by criminals and gangs against the people of Ecuador.

“The United States stands firmly with President Daniel Noboa and the people of Ecuador. The violent gangs and criminals who are attempting to take Ecuador hostage cannot succeed, and I applaud President Noboa for refusing to give into this dangerous and unlawful behavior. As co-chair of the Congressional Friends of Ecuador Caucus, I am resolute in my support of Ecuador’s democratic and civilized government and reaffirm my commitment to supporting the economic prosperity of Ecuador. I am calling on the U.S. Government to offer full diplomatic support to the rightful government of Ecuador. Democracy and freedom are worth the fight.”
