Rep. Miller Donates 500 Books to Webster County Library
WASHINGTON, D.C. - Congresswoman Carol Miller (R-WV) donated 500 books from the Library of Congress to the Addison-Webster Library in Webster Springs.
“Everyone should have access to educational tools, especially in our libraries”, said Congresswoman Miller. “It’s an honor to send these books from Washington D.C. to West Virginia and provide more opportunities for students to learn. My priorities remain focused on developing policies that make West Virginia the best place to live, work, and raise a family, with resources such as public libraries playing a vital role in nurturing our communities.
"Congresswoman Carol Miller continues to support her constituents, regardless of their age. The generous donation of 500 books from the Library of Congress will bring joy and entertainment to children of all ages," said Secretary Randall Reid-Smith. "Congresswoman Miller understands the significance of maintaining West Virginia’s public libraries and has been a champion for the growth of rural communities."
Background:
- The Webster-Addison Public Library was one of the first instant libraries in West Virginia. The small carousel building opened its doors in 1973, and 10 years later a second carousel was added to the growing facility. The library serves more than 5,000 residents in Webster County.
- In April, Congresswoman Miller donated to the Hamlin-Lincoln County Public Library. Members of Congress can select books from the Library of Congress and donate them to local libraries in their districts.
