On Raising the Debt Ceiling and Cutting Government Spending:
“Good morning and thank you for having me on this morning. I think Kevin McCarthy is exactly right with his message [spending less and negotiating a plan with the President] and the United States feels the same way. We’ve got to stop the spending. What’s occurred over the last 2 years with $10 trillion in spending is just mind boggling. We had to spend money in the beginning of COVID, this horrible pandemic that went across the world. It also showed us how interconnected we are and how much smaller the world has become as we all depend upon each other. So, it’s very, very, important that the United States gets their house in order.”
“We have to be the adults in the room. We’ve got the Limit, Save, Grow Act and it spells out very specifically what we need to do. We need to hold the spending and that’s why we’re trying to roll it back to 2022 levels and be responsible. We will be saving money as we move forward, and nobody wants the government in their pocket all the time.”
On the The Threat of Communist China and the Chinese Surveillance Balloon:
“It is shocking what his reaction was [President Biden calling the Chinese Surveillance balloon a “silly” balloon.] We should’ve taken care of that the moment we were aware that there was a balloon or anything hovering over our country. So, I don’t feel like he is aware, as you and I are about the entire environment our world is in.”
