Rep. Miller's Statement on the Passage of the Continuing Resolution
WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, Congresswoman Carol Miller (R-WV) released the following statement on the passage of the Continuing Resolution introduced by Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) that includes a 45-day stopgap funding bill which will temporarily fund the government and prevent a shutdown.
“The government has been temporarily funded. House Republicans have worked overtime to ensure that our troops are paid, disaster relief is distributed, and that the government keeps working for Americans. However, our work is far from over. With no help from House Democrats, the White House, or the Senate, House Republicans have already voted to fund 70% of the government through fiscally responsible appropriations bills, and we will continue to work to fund the rest of it. I encourage my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to put aside partisan antics and do what you were elected to do: pass legislation that benefits Americans,” said Congresswoman Miller.
