Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Miller (WV-3) announced today a grant of $1, 284,283.64 from the Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to the West Virginia Division of Highways. This federal funding was allocated as a result of significant flooding in western counties in the Third Congressional District that took place in February 2018.
Congresswoman Miller said, "I thank FEMA for its continued dedication to helping residents of West Virginia. The effects of natural disasters are felt in all aspects of life and this funding will help rebuild our infrastructure and strengthen our economy. One year later, we must not lose focus on restoring our communities."
FEMA designated Cabell, Lincoln, Logan, Mason, and Wayne Counties in the Third Congressional District of West Virginia as a disaster area on February 17, 2018 as a result of severe storms, flooding, landslides, and mudslides.
