Congresswoman Miller Announces $215,000 for Substance Abuse Treatment Program

Washington D.C. – Congresswoman Carol Miller (R-WV) announced today a grant of $215,000 from the Appalachian Regional Commission to the Appalachian Transportation Institute at Marshall University. The grant will be used to fund a pilot project improving access to transportation for substance abuse disorder treatment in Huntington, West Virginia.

Congresswoman Miller said, "I am so pleased to see this partnership aimed at expanding access to substance abuse treatment. Providing increased transportation is a major step towards helping our community and ending this crisis that is plaguing our state."

This project is will be a partnership with Lyft, the Community Transportation Association of America, and the Provider Response Organization for Addiction Care & Treatment.
