Congresswoman Miller Announces $26.9 Million to WVDOT
WASHINGTON D.C. – Congresswoman Carol Miller (R-WV) announced a grant of $26,972,721 to the West Virginia Department of Transportation (WVDOT) from the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) to be used for COVID-19 relief efforts.
"I am working to ensure all federal funding available is coming home to our state to keep our communities healthy," said Congresswoman Miller. "We must keep our transit services safely open to help our doctors, nurses, first responders, and all essential workers get to work and back home. We are all in this together."
These funds are part of the initial $55 million granted to West Virginia on April 3, 2020, following the passage of the CARES Act. WVDOT will use its portion of funds to support operational costs for rural transportation services, including Intercity Bus Operators. It will also be used to support COVID-19 response efforts and administrative leave for employees.
