Congresswoman Miller Announces $4 Million Grant to Early Childhood Education
Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Miller (WV-3) announced today a grant of $4,736,176 from the Department of Health and Human Services to the Coalfield Community Action Partnership for the funding of the Head Start Programs in West Virginia.
"As a wife, a mother, and a grandmother, I know that each child is truly a gift from God. Our children are our future and we must ensure they have all the tools and resources available to ensure a successful future." Congresswoman Miller continued, "I am excited to see the Coalfield Community Action Partnership, through Head Start, investing in our children and the future of West Virginia."
Head Start serves 500+ children in McDowell and Mingo Counties by providing early childhood education for children and families from birth to 5 years old. The Head Start and Early Head Start programs provide comprehensive development programs to aid in children's physical, social, emotional, and intellectual development, while enhancing parents' role in this process.
