Congresswoman Miller Announces $444,000 Grant for Heart and Vascular Disease Research at Marshall University

Washington D.C. – Congresswoman Carol Miller (R-WV) announced, today, that the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute has awarded a $444,000 grant to Marshall University for heart and vascular disease research.
Congresswoman Miller said, "Marshall is a world-class research institution, and I am grateful that these resources will be used to provide the tools needed to discover and create important advances in healthcare to help West Virginians live longer, healthier lives."
This funding comes in the form of an Academic Research Enhancement Award (AREA) to explore the Na/K-ATPase receptor function as a novel therapeutic target in myocardial infarction.
