Congresswoman Miller Announces $4.5 Million in Grants from Department of Transportation

Washington D.C. – Congresswoman Carol Miller (R-WV) announced today two grants from the Department of Transportation to improve airports in Southern West Virginia. The first grant, totaling $2,350,000, is awarded to the Raleigh County Memorial Airport in Beckley. The second, totaling $2,200,000, is awarded to the Tri-State Airport/Milton J. Ferguson Field in Huntington.

Congresswoman Miller said, "I am grateful for Secretary Chao's commitment to Southern West Virginia. These grants are vital to helping our airports reach their full potential and grow our aerospace industry. I am excited to see the positive impacts these projects will have on our community."

Secretary Elaine L. Chao added, "The Department has been investing heavily in our nation's airport infrastructure, which will strengthen economic growth and create jobs in communities across the country."

The Raleigh County Memorial Airport will use these funds to reconstruct the taxiway and the Tri-State Airport will use it to improve airport drainage.
