Congresswoman Miller Announces Federal Grant to Aid in Cleaning of Chesapeake Bay
Washington D.C. – Congresswoman Carol Miller (R-WV) announced a grant of $225,667 from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection to help enhance monitoring to improve the assessment of sediment and nutrient load reductions support for the Chesapeake Bay Program. Additionally, it will provide bay wide and basin wide water quality and living resource monitoring data analysis and interpretation.
"It is imperative that we protect our environment and keep our communities clean and safe," said Congresswoman Miller. "Our natural resources are our biggest export and clean water plays a key role in that. Water affects all aspects of life and I am pleased that the EPA is designating these funds to ensure it is clean and protected."
