Congresswoman Miller Announces Grant for Early Head Start Programs
Washington D.C. – Congresswoman Carol Miller (R-WV) announced today a grant of $910,604 from the Department of Health and Human Services to the Community Action of Southeastern West Virginia. The grant is to be used for the Early Head Start Program.
Congresswoman Miller said, "I am delighted to see this investment in the children of Southern West Virginia. The Early Head Start Program plays a crucial role in childhood education and emphasizes the importance of incorporating the whole family in a child's life. Our children are our future and we must provide them with the best resources for a prosperous life."
The Head Start Programs provide parents and children, from birth to age 5, with the skills they need to begin their school career. These programs foster a positive learning environment to encourage children's growth and development in the areas of early learning, health, and family well-being.
