Congresswoman Miller Announces Nearly $3 Million in Grants for Webster County

March 20, 2019

Washington D.C. – Congresswoman Carol Miller (R-WV) announced $1,075,00 in Section 340 funding grants from U.S. Army Corp of Engineers to the Cranberry Ridge and Gauley Mills Water Extension Project during an event in Webster County today. In addition to the $1 million grant, Miller announced another grant of $1,858,772 from the Department of Health and Human Services to the Camden-On-Gauley Medical Center. These grants total almost $3 million awarded to the community.

Congresswoman Miller said, "This is a great day for Camden-On-Gauley. This area was heavily impacted by the 2016 flooding and this funding will help sustain local businesses and encourage further economic growth. These are the kinds of investments I am fighting for. My top priority is bringing taxpayer dollars back home to West Virginia."

The Cranberry Ridge and Gauley Mills Water Extension Project will serve 84 new customers who currently rely on unpredictable and potentially unsanitary well systems. This funding will also provide improved fire safety for residents.
