Congresswoman Miller Announces USDA Rural Development Loan to Pocahontas County

Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Miller (WV-3) announced today a rural investment by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development for Pocahontas County, West Virginia. The loan of $7,500,000, will be used to add on to the existing hotel and event facility at the Corduroy Inn. This will create 20 new jobs.

Congresswoman Miller said, "This project will build new infrastructure, create jobs, and increase tourism that will strengthen Southern West Virginia's economy. I am so happy to see Pocahontas County grow and become a hotspot for tourists across the country."

The funds are being used to construct a new 30 room, 48,000 square foot hotel adjacent to the existing facility to provide ground floor covered parking, 30 additional hotel rooms and a large banquet hall for events and weddings. The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) is also providing a 7a loan worth $3,800,000 for construction, working capital, loan fees, and furniture, fixtures, and equipment. The project's total cost is $11,300,000.
