Miller Tours Jackson General Hospital and Gives Remarks at the Constellium Scholarship Program Signing Ceremony
Washington, D.C. – Today, Congresswoman Carol Miller (R-WV) toured Jackson General Hospital to see the recent additions made to the rural hospital. Congresswoman Miller also attended and spoke at a signing ceremony to celebrate the young adults who were chosen for the Constellium Skilled Trade Scholarship Program.
Congresswoman Miller visited Jackson General Hospital to see the new additions to the hospital’s wing, which include 14 private rooms, two triage rooms, two trauma rooms, mental health rooms, and a surgical department.
"I, along with the doctors, nurses, and all staff at Jackson General Hospital are so grateful for this expansion. Each room in the new wing serves a specific purpose that will greatly support their ability to treat and tend to their patients. It is vital that hospitals, especially those in rural areas, have enough resources to provide effective and quality care to those who need it. I am grateful for the compassion and dedication that Jackson General Hospital puts into serving all their patients," said Congresswoman Miller.
Congresswoman Miller later spoke at the Constellium Plant and awarded congressional certificates to students, including the first female student, who were accepted into the Constellium Skilled Trade Scholarship Program to go to West Virginia University at Parkersburg.
"It was such a joy to congratulate these young, bright students for their hard work and talents. I am thankful for this scholarship program, so students can receive the proper education needed to excel in their future careers. I am confident that each student will take away invaluable experience and knowledge throughout their time in this program and afterwards. It is a gift that Constellium will have a job waiting for these students as they step into the workforce," said Congresswoman Miller.
