WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congresswoman Carol Miller (R-WV) announced today a grant from the Appalachian Regional Commission worth $1,551,200 to the Wayne County Commissioners for the Wayne County Phase I Broadband Fiber Project.

The project will install 16.8 miles of fiber backbone along State Route 152, bringing high internet speeds to 796 households and 191 businesses across northern Wayne County, including in Beech Fork, Beech Fork Marina, Lavalette, and Ardel.

The ERTC was designed to help small businesses rehire and retain employees they had to let go due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It was overwhelmingly supported in the bipartisan Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act passed in March 2020.
