Washington, D.C. –  This week, as the country celebrates National Rural Health Month, Congresswoman Carol Miller (R-WV) joined Congresswoman Jill Tokuda (D-HI) and Congresswoman Diana Harshbarger (R-TN) in introducing a resolution recognizing November 21, 2024, as “National Rural Health Day.” The resolution highlights contributions by rural communities to address health care challenges and expresses a commitment to improving health care access and affordability in rural areas. 

Washington, D.C. – On this National Rural Health Day, Congresswoman Carol Miller (R-WV) and Congresswoman Terri Sewell (D-AL) introduced the Rural Hospital Flexibility Act of 2024 to reauthorize and modify the Medicare Rural Hospital Flexibility Program. The purpose of this program is to provide states with funding needed to support Critical Access Hospitals (CAHs).

Washington, D.C. – Yesterday, Congresswoman Carol Miller (R-WV), Congressman Alex Mooney (R-WV), and Senators Joe Manchin (I-WV) and Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV) sent a letter urging President Joe Biden and FEMA Region III Administrator MaryAnn Tierney to consider West Virginia’s appeal for a major disaster declaration. Severe weather events during Hurricane Helene, including heavy rains, high winds and flooding, caused extensive damage throughout southern West Virginia from September 25, 2024 to September 28, 2024.

Washington D.C. - Today, Congresswoman Carol Miller (R-WV) gave remarks at the 38th Annual Jose I. Ricard Family Medicine & Sports Medicine Conference on the work she is doing in Congress to address rural healthcare issues and highlighted the importance of family medicine. 

Washington D.C. - Today, Congresswoman Carol Miller (R-WV) met with Nucor Steel staff to tour the grounds and see the current state of the plant’s construction. The Congresswoman also visited Rivers Health Hospital to see the beginning renovations to their Emergency Department and discuss the $2.6 million in funding the Congresswoman secured for the project.

Congresswoman Miller stopped by the construction site of Nucor Steel’s mill to see progress being made. 
 

Washington D.C. - Congresswoman Carol Miller (R-WV) joined Congressman August Pfluger (R-TX) and 43 of their colleagues in sending a letter to Secretary of Energy Jennifer Granholm raising serious concerns about transparency and accountability within the Department of Energy (DOE) regarding the Biden-Harris administration’s handling of studies related to liquefied natural gas (LNG) exports.
