The purpose of this program is to provide states with funding needed to support Critical Access Hospitals (CAHs).

Washington, D.C. – Yesterday, Congresswoman Carol Miller (R-WV), Congressman Alex Mooney (R-WV), and Senators Joe Manchin (I-WV) and Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV) sent a letter urging President Joe Biden and FEMA Region III Administrator MaryAnn Tierney to consider West Virginia’s appeal for a major disaster declaration. Severe weather events during Hurricane Helene, including heavy rains, high winds and flooding, caused extensive damage throughout southern West Virginia from September 25, 2024 to September 28, 2024.

Washington D.C. - Today, Congresswoman Carol Miller (R-WV) met with Nucor Steel staff to tour the grounds and see the current state of the plant’s construction. The Congresswoman also visited Rivers Health Hospital to see the beginning renovations to their Emergency Department and discuss the $2.6 million in funding the Congresswoman secured for the project.

Congresswoman Miller stopped by the construction site of Nucor Steel’s mill to see progress being made.
