WASHINGTON D.C. – Congresswoman Carol Miller (R-WV) today announced two grants from the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) totaling more than $12.5 million for the Head Start Programs in southern West Virginia. The first grant, worth $7,507,708, will go to the Southwestern Community Action Council, Inc. in Huntington, West Virginia. The second grant, worth $5,033,350, will go to the Coalfield Community Action Partnership, Inc. in Williamson, West Virginia.

WASHINGTON D.C. – Congresswoman Carol Miller (R-WV) today joined U.S. Senators Joe Manchin (D-WV) and Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV), as well as Representatives David McKinley (R-WV) and Alex Mooney (R-WV), to urge President Biden to approve Governor Justice's request for a federal disaster declaration for the severe winter weather that affected areas of West Virginia's Third Congressional District, including Cabell, Lincoln, Mason, and Wayne Counties, the week of February 10-16, 2021. The disaster declaration also includes Jackson and Putnam counties.
