Washington D.C. – Congresswoman Carol Miller (R-WV) announced today that the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has given disaster designation to Cabell, Mason, and Wayne counties, which suffered losses from natural disasters during the 2019 crop year.

Congresswoman Miller said, "I am pleased to see the USDA making rural America a priority. We must ensure that our farmers have all the resources available for them to be successful. This disaster designation is an important step in shielding our agriculture community from unplanned disasters."

Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Carol Miller (WV-3) announced today that Fayette County has been designated as a High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) by the Office of National Drug Control Policy.

Congresswoman Miller said "The HIDTA designation for Fayette County is an important step in combating the opioid epidemic. West Virginia is ground-zero for this tragic epidemic and has affected us all in heart-breaking ways. I am committed to continuing to find solutions to keep our community safe."

The first, is $31,700, to the Webster County Memorial Hospital, the second to the Town of Gauley Bridge worth $33,700, and the third to the McDowell County Commission on Aging worth $37,500.

Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Miller (WV-3) announced today a grant of $3,730,597 from the Department of Health and Human Services to Marshall University for the West Virginia IDeA Network of Biomedical Research Excellence (WV-INBRE) Program.

Congresswoman Miller said, "Research at our institutions of higher education play a crucial role in moving our society forward. I am excited to see how Marshall University will use this funding for biomedical research to find the knowledge necessary to carry our state into a more prosperous future."

Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Miller (WV-3) announced today a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) of $2,558,263 from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to the City of Huntington. CDB grants are used to revitalize downtown areas, find affordable housing options, and provide recreational activities to benefit low- and moderate-income communities.

Washington D.C. – Congresswoman Carol Miller (R-WV) announced today a grant of $237,693 from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection to support their Air Pollution Control Program.
