Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Miller (WV-3) announced today a planning grant of $2,204,124 from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Services Bureau of Medical Services. The funding will be used to increase the treatment capacity of Medicaid providers for substance use disorder (SUD).

Washington D.C. – Congresswoman Carol Miller (R-WV) announced today two grants from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to firefighters in West Virginia. The first grant is an Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) totaling $348,099.99, the full break down to specific localities is below. The second grant is a Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response (SAFER) Grant totaling $501,275 to the Chapmanville Volunteer Fire Department for recruitment and retention.

Washington D.C. – Congresswoman Carol Miller (R-WV) announced today a grant of $600,000 from the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) to the Pocahontas County Public Service District for the Frank-Bartow Sanitary Sewer project.

"This project will help Pocahontas County develop their infrastructure to grow the number of small businesses and create new jobs. This is a big step towards further connecting our state and I am thankful to all the players involved for investing in our community," said Congresswoman Miller.

Huntington, W.V. – Congresswoman Carol Miller (R-WV) will be the special guest at the Huntington Area Job Fair presented by the Huntington Regional Chamber of Commerce, Huntington Area Development Council, Workforce West Virginia, and the West Virginia Department of Commerce.

Washington D.C. – Congresswoman Carol Miller (R-WV) announced today that the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has given disaster designation to Cabell, Mason, and Wayne counties, which suffered losses from natural disasters during the 2019 crop year.

Congresswoman Miller said, "I am pleased to see the USDA making rural America a priority. We must ensure that our farmers have all the resources available for them to be successful. This disaster designation is an important step in shielding our agriculture community from unplanned disasters."

Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Carol Miller (WV-3) announced today that Fayette County has been designated as a High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) by the Office of National Drug Control Policy.

Congresswoman Miller said "The HIDTA designation for Fayette County is an important step in combating the opioid epidemic. West Virginia is ground-zero for this tragic epidemic and has affected us all in heart-breaking ways. I am committed to continuing to find solutions to keep our community safe."
