Washington D.C. – Congresswoman Carol Miller (R-WV) announced today two grants from the Department of Transportation to improve airports in Southern West Virginia. The first grant, totaling $2,350,000, is awarded to the Raleigh County Memorial Airport in Beckley. The second, totaling $2,200,000, is awarded to the Tri-State Airport/Milton J. Ferguson Field in Huntington.

Washington D.C. – Congresswoman Carol Miller (R-WV) announced today a grant of $1,094,617 from the Department of Health and Human Services to the Greenbrier County Board of Education for the Head Start Program.

Congresswoman Miller said, "Our children are our future and I am delighted to see they are being made a priority. The Head Start Programs help ensure all children have the tools they need to succeed in school and beyond."

Washington D.C. – Congresswoman Carol Miller (R-WV) announced today an investment by the Economic Development Administration (EDA) of $70,000 for Fayette, Nicholas, Greenbrier, Pocahontas, and Webster Counties to develop and implement a comprehensive economic development strategy (CEDS).

Congresswoman Miller said, "Thank you to the EDA for this investment in Southern West Virginia, I am excited to see the outcome of this project. Together we can work to diversify our economy, strengthen small businesses, and create new jobs."

Washington D.C. – Congresswoman Carol Miller (R-WV) announced today that the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) along with the Rural Community Assistance Partnership, will be giving technical assistance to rural communities in Southern West Virginia to help create and implement long-term economic plans over two years.
